Philosophie
"Food is fuel. Fuel to perform. "
First and foremost I would like to state that food is primarily to be enjoyed. The consumption of food is one of the most social and shared experiences across cultures. However, on my blog The Sports Chef, I aim to promote how best to provide your body with the correct nutrients to optimise performance. This is not to say that you should still not enjoy your food but when the aim is PBs and out performing yourself in training and/or during competitions, it is important to combine this enjoyment of food with an understanding of how to optimise your nutritional plan. Imagine trying to put petrol in a diesel car, it would damage the fuel system and most definitely not be able to run smoothly. I like to use this analogy when comparing how the food we consume impacts our sporting performance. I do not advocate restriction on any singular food group or food product for that matter, but through The Sports Chef hopefully you can begin incorporating more nutritional choices into your diet.
