Chocolate Orange Porridge

Because I don't know about you but I definitely think chocolate and orange are one of my all time favourite flavours of Christmas - well as well as pinot noir with Christmas dinner but perhaps not appropriate for breakfast.

Oats provide an excellent source of soluble fibre, specifically beta-glucan which has been recognised to help lower blood cholesterol.

NB: use milk of choice - I used chocolate oat milk but a chocolate protein milk, etc would be great

Serves 1

Ingredients:

50g oats

100ml chocolate oat milk

150ml oat milk

1tsp cocoa powder or square of dark choc

zest of an orange

30ml orange juice

Orange slices to serve

Method:

1). Place all the ingredients (except the orange slices) into a small saucepan and cook over a medium heat for ~5minutes, or until the oats have thickened. Add more liquid for a runnier consistency.

2). Pour into a bowl, top with orange slices (& more chocolate) and enjoy!
